Reading Notes: Mahabharata: The Greatest Spiritual Epic of All Time Part B.
The book that I choose to write my notes is on Mahabharata: The Greatest Spiritual Epic of All Time. From Reading B I chose to take notes on chapter 1.10: Draupadi’s Svayamvar. This was one of my favorite chapters because of the tournament that happens in this chapter was interesting because I am a really big fan of tournament any kind of. This chapter was about Draupadi marriage and to pick the husband for Draupadi they held the tournament to pick her husband and if you want to become her husband you have to hit the eye of the fish in the air by looking at the reflection of the fish in the water. My favorite part where Arjuna and that was my favorite part of this whole chapter he did what nobody could do at the tournament but there was Karna he would have also won the tournament but Draupadi didn’t want him as her husband so he was banned from participating in the Svayamvar. That the only thing I didn’t like about this chapter. He also had the skills to compete but Draupadi...
Story: Introduction of Six Pandavas
There were ones six brothers and they were the princes of Kuru clan and they are Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, Sahadeva, and Karna. They weren't just ordinary people, they were demigods and Yudhishthira was the son of Dharma (Justice), Bhima was the son of Vayu (Wind), Arjuna was the son of Indra (King of Heaven), Sahadeva and Nakula were twins and they were sons of god Ashvins Kumaras (Gods of Sunrise and Sunset Averting Misfortune and Sickness) and last son Karna was the son of Sun God. They each had a power that they were inherited from God like Nakula and Sahadeva can predict future but soon forget if nobody was there to hear it and both age fifteen. Yudhishthira was ingenious, and dedicated to the path of Dharma like his dad and never lied before age fifteen. Bhima had unmatched physical power and speed and nobody was his match age fifteen. Arjuna was a great archer age fifteen. Last son Karna was archer and was born with Kavach (Armor) and Kundal (earrings) age fi...

I was so glad to see the Himalaya here, Jay! Maybe you will do a project on Lord Shiva for this class, and all the stories about his home in the mountains. It even connects up with the Ramayana because of the great story about Shiva and Ravana: Ravananugraha: Ravana Shaking Mount Kailash :-)
ReplyDeleteThat actually sounds like a good idea thank you.
