Week 4 Story: Lanka and Ravana both on Fire
In a world where Human, Monster, and Demons lived together, there were ones a Monkey King Hanuman who lived in mountain and he was the king of the Monster race. One day he heard that Demon King Ravana, the King of Demon race kidnaped his best friend Rama wife, Rama is also the King of the Human race. As soon as he heard the news, Monkey king Hanuman when to the Human Kingdom to meet Rama. It took him 5 days just to get to the Rama Kingdom and then thought up the strategy to defeat Demon King Ravana. The next day they King Rama and King Hanuman took their army and left to attack Demon King Ravana.
Demon King Ravana lived on the Island so it took them almost half a month to get to the Ravana Kingdom. It took them that many days because they were traveling through the jungle they were being attacked by demons and they were sent by Demon King Ravana himself to kill Hanuman and Rama. They killed many Demons on the way and lost a lot of Human and Monster. After a long journey, they reached where Demon King Ravana lived and it is called Lanka City. They reached at night and the next day they were going to war with the Demons, but at night Hanuman infiltrated the Lanka city and went to find Sita, Rama wife to see if he could rescue her. He did see Sita but she didn’t want to come with him because she had faith in Rama to rescue her so Hanuman left. Hanuman then left the toward the Castle where Demon King Ravana lived.
Hanuman wanted to talk to Ravana, so Hanuman deliberately got caught by demons and tied him up with chains then they brought him to the Ravana. As soon as he saw him Ravana got mad and started roaring and started asking questing but Hanuman didn’t say any thing except for warning him to surrender Sita and accept the consequence. Ravana got madder so he told all demons put his tail on fire but they didn’t know that Hanuman was immune to fire and as soon as his tail got on fire he started jumping and with that tail he burned the whole castle down then the whole city and everything was in chose. Rama took advantage the chaos and attacked the Lanka city and the city quickly collapsed and then Rama and Hanuman both fought Ravana and killed him.

Hi again, Jay!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed how you had the two kings of different peoples come together in an effort to help. This is the vibe I got as I read the Ravana stories as well. Everyone loves Rama and Sita so deeply and would go through great measures to protect them and defeat any evil that comes in the way. I also really enjoyed that you added in time periods. As silly as it sounds, I sometimes forget how much longer things took back then. We are in a time now where everything is almost instant and a few hours in the car seems like a long time. Seeing the great amount of time put into their plan makes the story that much better! Thanks for sharing.
Hello again Jay. I think this is a really good story. I really like your introduction and it does a nice job of setting the scene for the story. You make the story simpler by cutting out Sita's prayer from the story and it makes your telling somewhat more dramatic. Rama lying in wait to strike the city when it is on fire in a nice way to explain his advantage without including a giant monkey army.
ReplyDeleteJay, I like how you described Hanuman's creature as more of a Monster. From the reading it made it seem like the monkey were basically the same as regular monkey just able to talk. But in the video Sita Sings the Blues the narrators talk about the monkey being more of a hybrid human with monkey traits, kind of like a Frankenstein Monster pieced together. However, I think that Rama choosing to go into to battle against Ravana while the city was being burned would have caused question into whether he was really a righteous man.
