Reading Notes: Sita Sings the Blues
This is actually a really good story about Sita singing the Blues. I liked actual Sita's character in the movie because one time she is the animated form of Sita and another time she is the old Indian drawing version of Sita. She sang a lot of different song in the video. What I liked about Sita singing the Blues songs is, while she was singing the blues songs the story was going forward with it, and it was really interesting to watch it because I never saw an Indian god or goddess sang Blues songs. There are two Blues songs that Sita sings and one song sang by Love and Kush in the video that I like and the first song that Sita sang comes when Sita and Rama were about to leave Ayodhya because they were banished by their father and it was a love song that was “snag” by Sita. In that song, I especially liked how Rama is killing the demon in a funny way while doing romance with Sita. That was straight out of Bollywood movie songs so that why like the song. The second song that I liked comes at 13:08 in the video when Rama comes to rescue Sita.
I like that song because Sita is thinking who would come here in Lanka to save me and the song she sang match perfectly with the setting she is in and also because she is thinking who could it be. The third song that I like is sung by Love and Kush the son of Rama and Sita. The song is about Rama and the good of a man he is but, in reality, they are badmouthing the Rama for doing what he did with Sita. For example in this song, they say that Rama doesn’t care about Sita and says Duty first, Sita last.
