Reading Notes: PDE Mahabharata Part B

The book that I choose to write my notes is on PDE Mahabharata: The Sons of Pandu.  From reading part B, I took notes on chapter 26 and 27.  Chapter 26 is called Draupadi’s Swayamwara and the name of 27 chapters is called Wife of Five Pandavas.  In chapter twenty-seven my favorite parts are when one of the Pandavas brother Arjun hit the target of the eye to become the husband of princess Draupadi. You could just picture the way Arjun hit the golden fish. And it goes like this “He strode forward like to a stately elephant and bared his broad shoulders and ample chest. All eyes watched him. He drew the cord, and the arrow flew upwards with a hissing sound; it hit the target eye, and the golden fish fell and clashed upon the ground. “ The way you can picture him doing the action was really good.

From the chapter 27, my favorite part was when the Pandavas try to introduce Draupadi the wife of Arjan but they mess by saying, “A great gift have we obtained this day.” And their mother Kunti said, “Then share the gift between you, as becomes brethren.” Then Yudhishthira said,”What hast thou said, O mother? The gift is the Princess Draupadi whom Arjuna hath won at the swayamvara“ Then Kunti said, “Alas! What Have I said? O Yudhishthira, my son, the fatal words have been spoken; you must devise how they can be obeyed without involving one another in wrong.” And in olds days you have to follow what your mother and father say and you can’t deny ones they said something you have to follow them that why this scene is one of my favorite scenes from Mahabharata. I also like chapter because they actually talk in this chapter.

This book was written by Laura Gibbs, The title of the book is Public Domain Edition of the Mahabharata: The Sons of Pandu Part B, and here is the Link to chapter 26 and 27
